Shared Computer Resources

• Image Processing Workstations: Brewster - Snell - Young - an MHmicroscopy account will grant you access.

• Information about MHmicroscopy Logon accounts - logging on at the computer key board  (handout version)

• Information on how to make network connections (Windows PCs) - Connecting from your Windows PC to MHmicroscopy computers over the network - Also connecting from MHmicroscopy computers to other MHmicroscopy computers

• MINSKY - MHMICROSCOPY central 3.3 Terabyte file server  

• VPN (Virtual Private Network) at UNC - Off campus access to files to/from UNC using Microsoft networking.  Available for UNC employees & students only.  Contact Michael or Wendy for a handout

• FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access - transferring large files outside of the UNC Ethernet.  This file transfer method is preferred to sending files using e-mail, and does not suffer from attachment and e-mail box size limitations.

Notices

• Users from outside of the Medical School may not be able to access file shares on \\LAPLACE the Leica SP2 confocal computer.  If you have problems accessing \\LAPLACE or any other computer please contact Michael
